Overview
As opposed to attempting to fit the needs of every user and every situation in flat charts, the RERC-AMI provides a single interface to our entire database of technical information. This interface has many features and can be daunting to a first time user. Stick with us and we promise you won't be disappointed.
Layout and Controls
Product Results
If you come into the Tech Table at the default location, you will see the first 10 products that we have on record, sorted by name. Anything in Bold Blue has a link associated with it. Anything in Normal Black does not. Additional information about a link can be found by mousing over the link or by checking the 'title' attribute in a text-based browser.
Headings
Above the list of products, you will see Bold Green Headings. Next to one of the headings will be an Arrow. The column with the Arrow is the column that the results are sorted by. The Arrow tells you which direction the sort is going. Text browsers will show appropriate text in place of the Arrow. To sort the product results by a different column, simply click on the Bold Green Heading of the column you wish to sort by. Clicking on the Bold Green Heading with the Arrow next to it will reverse the sort direction.
Page Listing
If more than one page of results are available, a Page Number navigation aid will appear below the results. This aid consists of a Previous Page Arrow, a Next Page Arrow, and a List of Available Pages. Bold Green Page Arrows indicate that the appropriate page in that direction may be accessed by clicking on the Page Arrow. If one of the Page Arrows is Normal White, then you have reached the end of your results. Most of the List of Available Pages will be Bold Green and are links to their appropriate pages of the result set. One Page Number will be Normal White. This is your Current Page.
Items Per Page
By default, 10 results are placed on each page. Some people may prefer to have more information on fewer pages. Others may prefer less information presented on a single screen. This control adjusts how many results to place on each page. If you click on one of the Bold Green Numbers, the number of rows on each page will be adjusted accordingly. The White Normal Number is your current setting.
Available Columns
The technical information that the RERC-AMI has on file is broken into 120 attributes per item. Obviously, not everyone is going to be interested in everything. By default, only the Product Name and Manufacturer are shown. If you click on the Show Available Columns control, a list of all 120 attributes will appear. Currently selected attributes are Underlined White. Inactive attributes are Green. If you click on an Inactive Attribute, a new column will appear on the table and the Attribute will show as active on the List. If you click on an Active Attribute, the appropriate column will be removed from the table and the Attribute will show as inactive on the List.
